Cleveland PD: Man arrested after allegedly assaulting mother, biting police officer’s ear

A Cleveland man was arrested Friday evening after allegedly assaulting his mother and biting a police officer who responded to the disturbance.

According to the Cleveland Police Department, officers were dispatched around 5:50 p.m. to the 500 block of Allen Avenue after a woman reported that her son was threatening her and had a firearm in his possession.

When officers arrived, the woman told them she had asked her son to put the gun away and that he became upset. She said he grabbed her arms, pushed her to the ground, and stood over her while calling her obscene names. The woman told officers her son placed the gun in his vehicle and ran inside the home after she called police.

  • Assault on a public servant — bond set at $25,000
