Theresa Kay Mills

On Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025, Theresa Kay Mills, our beloved mother, Nona, daughter, and sister, left this earth to meet her Heavenly Father.

Born in Baytown, Texas, on March 19, 1958, to Sandra and Robert Pennington, Kay lived a life overflowing with love, laughter, and compassion. She had a heart of gold and a welcoming spirit that knew no strangers. Kay was a loyal friend to everyone blessed to know her, generous and always offering a helping hand or a meal to eat to anyone in need.

She adored her family, doted on her grandchildren, and never passed up a good yard sale. Her laughter was contagious; her hugs, comforting; and her love, limitless. Whether she was offering words of wisdom or simply sharing her time, Kay made everyone feel seen, heard, welcome, and loved.

Heaven’s gates opened wide to welcome Kay home where she was reunited with her loving husband Wade Cameron Mills, her precious grandson Wade Alan Rives, and many dear family and friends who passed on before her.

Those who remain to carry her memory in their hearts include her devoted partner of 32 years Christopher O’Reilly; her parents Robert and Sandra Pennington; brother Danny Pennington and wife Suzanne; brother Kevin Pennington and wife Alesia; her loving children Shane Pennington and wife Kristy, Allison Mills and partner Russell Himburg, Heather Mills and partner David Rives; and her treasured grandchildren Jordan, Elizabeth, Brier, Peyton, Abigail, and Aubrey.

A celebration of Kay’s remarkable life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Community Christian Fellowship in Oak Island, Texas.

Author Melvina Young wrote, “The angels are singing welcome, and the ancestors are shouting joy that a beautiful soul has come home to perfect peace and love.” Though our hearts ache with her absence, we find peace knowing she now rests in the arms of her Savior.

Until we meet again, Momma, your spirit will shine on through every laugh, every hug, and every act of kindness we share in memory of you. We will love you forever. Your light will never fade.
