Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office investigating murder-suicide in Porter

On Nov. 12, 2025, at approximately 1:46 p.m., Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Telecommunications received a report to attempt to locate a blue Chevrolet pickup truck in the area of FM 1314 and SH 99. Witnesses had observed a male and female physically fighting inside the vehicle.

Deputies with the Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office located the vehicle in the 20200 block of Duester Lane in Porter, Texas. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the bodies of 41-year-old Kevin Doak and 28-year-old Victoria Yates, both deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.

MCSO Major Crimes Detectives, Crime Scene Investigators, and the Montgomery County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene and began investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

Although the investigation remains ongoing, preliminary findings indicate a possible murder-suicide. Authorities say there is no ongoing threat to the public.
