Verta Sue Lawrence

Verta Sue Lawrence, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Nov. 9, 2025. She was born on Feb. 24, 1942, in Cleveland, Texas, to Jack Floyd and Lillie Mae Chambers.

Verta was a woman of grace, strength, and endless love. She found great joy in caring for her family and cherished every moment spent with them. A devoted reader and nurturer at heart, she touched countless lives with her kindness and gentle spirit. To know Verta was truly to love her.

She is survived by her son, William Floyd “Bo” Lawrence and his wife Kay; daughter, Lillie Christi Raley and her husband Jeff; and brother, Jack P. Chambers.

Verta’s legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Steven Lawrence and wife Jamie, Brittany Soukup and husband Rick, Justin Lawrence and wife Shannon, Emily Raley and Marty Silva, and Connor Gilbertson; and her great-grandchildren: Carley Lawrence, Cash Lawrence, Ryan Lawrence, Corley Lawrence, Asher Lawrence, Brooklyn Lawrence, Alivia Soukup, Victoria Soukup, and M.J. Silva.

She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of dear friends who will cherish her memory forever.

Verta was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William “Bill” Lawrence, and her parents, Jack Floyd and Lillie Mae Chambers.

Her love, laughter, and warmth will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
