Tracy Hugh Batey

Tracy Hugh Batey was born in Houston, Texas on May 17, 1961, to Clarence and Jackie Sims Batey. He passed away Dec. 6, 2025, in Shepherd, Texas, after a courageous battle with cancer. Tracy was full of life and loved his family and friends. He was an iron worker and he also was a seismographer working offshore. 

Tracy was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Jackie Batey. He is survived by his beloved soulmate, Dawn Byers; sons, Michael Batey and Brandon Batey; brothers, Jack Green and wife Shawn, Lynn Batey and wife Sherry; nephews, Christopher Batey and wife Myra, and Dustin Green; niece, Dana Batey and husband Franklin Burnett; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025, in the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. with Pastor Ricky Jolley officiating. Burial will follow in the Farley Chapel Cemetery in Shepherd, Texas. Pallbearers for the service will be, David Batey, Clint Batey, Christopher Batey, Franklin Burnett, Terry Reeves, and James Bryant. Honorary Pallbearer will be Dickie Donnan.
