Felipe Amaya

Felipe Amaya, 101, of Anahuac, Texas, passed away peacefully on Dec. 19, 2025. He was born on May 1, 1924, in Monclova Coahuila, Mexico. Mr. Amaya is preceded in death by his wife Maria H. Amaya of 54 years and his parents Benito Amaya Ornelas and Antonia Castillo Tobias.

Felipe lived a full and vibrant life. He loved spending time fishing, shopping, and cooking delicious meals for his family. Known for his love of driving until the age of 99. Felipe enjoyed simple pleasures like visiting McDonald’s for his favorite chicken nuggets. Throughout his life, he worked as a farm laborer that was owned by H-E-B, demonstrating a strong work ethic and dedication. In Monterrey Mexico, Felipe proudly owned and operated his own taqueria for over 20 years with his wife, sharing his passion for food with his community.

Felipe’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his children Agustin Amaya and wife Leticia Amaya, Cruz Molina and late husband Jesus Molina, Isidro Amaya, Maria Isabel Magana and husband Francisco Magaña, Laura Ordaz, Felipe Amaya and wife Maria G. Amaya and Jose Antonio Amaya and wife Aidee Delgado, 19 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, 17 great great- grandchildren, his brother Margarito Amaya, and along with a host of other loving relatives and friend’s. Who will cherish his memory and the legacy of love he leaves behind.
