Gene Arthur West

Gene Arthur West was born June 28, 1947, in Navasota, Texas, to parents, Harry A. West and Ida M. Maness West. He passed away in Houston, Texas, on Dec, 23, 2025, at the age of 78.

Gene proudly served our country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He had a love for wood working and was a carpenter for 60 years. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ida West; sister, Mary Newsom.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Linda West; daughters, Janet Long and Cynthia Kim; stepdaughter, Tawnya Starcher; stepson, Dwane Starcher; 4 grandchildren; brother, Samuel West; sister, Diana O’Neil.

Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025, in the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel from 10-11:30 a.m. Funeral Service will begin at 11:30 a.m. with Bro. George Hayden officiating. Burial will be at 1:45 p.m. in the Houston National Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Houston Honor Guard.
