Jeannie Marie Cater

Jeannie Marie Cater was born in Monroe, La., on Dec. 4, 1946, to parents, Bennett Allan Stephens and Violet Washington Stephens. She entered Heaven’s Gates on Feb. 21, 2026, at the age of 79.

Jeannie loved her Lord and Savior and taught that love to her family. Jeannie retired as an event coordinator and was most proud of her daughters and grandchildren. She provided a loving home for her husband and daughters and enjoyed all the precious memories she had of them.

Jeannie will be greatly missed by all her family and by her church family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bennett Allan Stephens and Violet Case; husband, Bobby Cater; son-in-laws, Lloyd Dubbin and Lynn Hall; brother, Steve Stephens; sisters, Beverly Stephens, Bennie Faye Davis, and Sandy Crawford; great-granddaughter, Savannah English.

Jeannie is survived by her beloved daughters, Dedria Tanton and husband Chester, DeWanda Dubbin, and Ronda Hall; grandchildren, Charity Rogers and husband Jason, Charita Creel and husband Kyle, Carol Tanton, Walter Tanton, Elijah Tanton, Beverly English and husband Tyler, Evelyn Dubbin, Chance Stewart, Jeffery Fogle, Ronnie Fogle, Deidra Hall, and Diane Hall; 13 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026, at the Rainbow Baptist Church from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Funeral Service will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ryan Claussen officiating. Burial will follow in the Holly Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service will be Kyle Creel, Jason Rogers, Billy Dwayne Jones, Tyler English, Jeffery Fogle, and Ronnie Fogle. Honorary Pallbearer will be John Burnett.
