Richard Vernon Donnan

Richard Vernon Donnan was born in Texas City, Texas, on Jan. 25, 1959, to parents, James Cecil Donnan Sr and Mary Elizabeth Hastings Donnan. He went to his Heavenly Home on April 9, 2026, in Houston, Texas at the age of 67.

Dickie was a simple man that enjoyed life to the fullest. He worked in construction for 40 years, he loved to be outside and never met a stranger. He had a heart of gold and was always there to lend a helping hand. He was also the best horseshoe player around and there is not many people that could beat him.

Dickie loved the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Astros, and the University of Houston basketball team. He loved to sneak off to Bingo but would always make sure he got home before Pam did. If you asked him if he won he would just laugh. Dickie loved to go to the deer ranch and work outside. He was the life of the party, let’s not talk about his dance moves.

Dickie was a loving husband of 42 years, was a great little brother that always had his brothers back no matter what. A great father that spoiled his kids rotten and he was the best Paw-Pa ever and he will be missed dearly by many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Cecil and Mary Elizabeth Donnan; nephews, Clint Donnan and Clay Donnan. Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Pam Donnan of Shepherd, Texas; beloved children, Brent Allen Donnan, and Traci Lynn Donnan, both of Shepherd, Texas; bonus daughter, Ashely Fischer; beloved brother and sister in law, James Cecil Donnan Jr and Treasa Donnan of Center, Texas; beloved grandchildren, Taliyah Williams, Lathan Donnan, Savannah Donnan, Maraya Davis, Jacorey Davis, and Amiya Davis; beloved nephew, Cody Donnan of Dallas, Texas.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 12, 2026, in the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel from 12-2 p.m. Funeral Service will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor Zack Currie officiating. Burial will follow in the Farley Chapel Cemetery in Shepherd, Texas. Pallbearers for the service will be, Steve Bryan, Greg White, Murray Chreene, Neil Farris, Cody Donnan, Jacorey Davis, and Jody Simpson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Roger Chreene, Doc Richards, and James “Woo” Owens.
