A busy stretch of Fostoria Road in Montgomery County’s Precinct 4 has a new look, marking the first completed road widening project funded by the 2025 Montgomery County Road Bond.
The project expanded Fostoria Road from two lanes to four between Highway 59 and Morgan Cemetery Road, with new turn lanes added at Morgan Cemetery Road to help improve traffic flow in the growing area.
Before road construction began, Precinct 4 crews handled drainage improvements in-house, a move that helped stretch bond funding and make the most of local tax dollars.
Pct. 4 Commissioner Matt Gray joined representatives from Durwood Greene, DCCM, HR Green, and Pct. 4 staff to celebrate the project’s completion.
The work included approximately $5.9 million in road construction. Design was completed in 59 days, followed by 109 days of drainage work and 88 days of road construction.
“The voters of Montgomery County passed a road bond in May of 2025 and trusted us to address the mobility problems,” Gray said. “I am proud that we were able to deliver the Fostoria Road Project in a reasonable timeframe while also saving money. Infrastructure is the catalyst for economic growth, and Precinct 4 remains committed to efficiently managing our remaining bond projects to sustain that growth.”
