Harold B. Harbour passed away surrounded by the love of his family. He was a devoted husband, father, pawpaw, and great-papaw, and he will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and the deep love he had for the people closest to him.
Harold was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Harbour; his mother, Lois Brummett Johnson; his brothers, Henry and Homer Harbour; and his sister Darlene Hill. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 46 years, Jane Harbour, along with his children: Adrian Harbour and his wife Jennifer, Tammie Warren and her husband Steve, and Chad Harbour and his wife Sierra. He was also a proud pawpaw to Lexus, Alyssa, Keyara, Haylee, Bryson, Javin, and Brayden, and a great-papaw to Cashyn, Jackson Adrian, Jameson Bill, and Delcia Jane. Harold is also survived by his sisters, Lois Howard and Sarah Faught; his brothers, Tom and Dick Harbour; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who loved him dearly.
After graduating from high school, Harold was drafted into the United States Army, where he proudly served with the 173rd Airborne Brigade and earned his wings. After his time in the military, he worked with Sky Climbers and Richmond Tank Car before spending more than 30 years with the Texas Department of Transportation. His work left a lasting mark across Liberty County, where his initials, H.B.H., can still be found etched into road signs — a quiet but meaningful reminder of the pride he took in doing a job well done.
Harold was the kind of man who could fix just about anything and was always willing to help someone in need. He loved the beach, enjoyed riding his motorcycle down quiet back roads, and found joy in simple things. He was hardworking, dependable, and cared deeply for his family. More than anything, he was loved, and he will be missed beyond words.
His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the blessing of knowing him.
