Barry D. Lopez, 42, of Liberty, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the Baylor St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston.
Barry was born April 11, 1984, in Beaumont, to parents; David and Shelly Crenshaw Lopez, and has been a lifelong resident of Liberty. He was a graduate of Liberty High School, attending San Jacinto Community College, and was an inside salesman for Liberty Forge. Barry was also baptized at the First Baptist Church of Liberty and attended North Main Baptist more recently. He took enjoyment in sports activities, fishing, collecting sports cards and coins, and watching his Astros and Cowboys.
Barry was preceded in death by his grandparents: Jesse and Mary Lopez, father: David Lopez. He is survived by his mother: Shelly Crenshaw Lopez, sister: Sarah Lopez, grandmother: Vennie Mason, numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.
Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be Andre Lemelle, Brian Butler, Kirby Wagenseller, Benny Carroll, Kevan Cuniff and Britt Stifflemire.
Friends are invited to visit with the family beginning at 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Heights Baptist Church in Liberty. Funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. with Rev. Tim Gruver officiating. A burial will follow at Cooke Memorial Cemetery in Liberty.
