Jessica ”Jessie” Mae Glover, 68, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away, on Friday, April 3, leaving behind a life defined by love, faith, devotion, and quiet strength.
Born and raised in Cleveland, Jessie remained deeply rooted in the place she always called home. On March 27, 1977, she married the love of her life, Jackie Glover. Their marriage was one of enduring love and unwavering partnership, a bond that continued to guide her even after his passing on July 3, 2017. She carried his memory and love with her always.
Jessie was a woman of strong and steady faith. She was devoted to her church family at New Hope Baptist Church, where she found community, purpose, and spiritual strength. Her faith was not only something she believed, it was something she lived daily.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jackie Glover, her parents, Sarah Mae Bittick and Jimmie Ozmer Bittick, and her brother, James Wayne Bittick.
Though she never had children of her own, Jessie gave the love of a mother freely and fully to her nieces and nephews, helping to raise her nephew Dackota Bittick as her very own, she adored her great niece Delilah and great nephew Kase with the love of a grandmother. For all of her nieces and nephews she celebrated them, protected them, and stood beside them through every season of life. To them, she was far more than an aunt, she was a second mother, a constant source of comfort, and one of the greatest loves of their lives.
Jessie never missed a chance to bring people together. Holidays were her joy, and Christmas Eve held a special place in her heart. Her home was often filled with warmth, laughter, and the kind of love that made everyone feel like they belonged. Chances are, if you look through old photographs, you will find her behind the camera, capturing moments, preserving memories, and making sure no special second was ever forgotten.
In recent years, Jessie faced a long term injury with incredible courage. She fought hard and endured so much, showing a resilience that inspired those around her. Even in the face of hardship, her spirit remained strong, and her love for others never wavered.
She is survived by her brother, Charlie Ackers Bittick, her mother in law and father in law, Dolly and Harold Marshburn, brother and sister in laws and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews who will carry her love with them always.
Jessie will be remembered for her grit, gentle heart, her unwavering faith, and the way she made people feel deeply loved. Her absence leaves an ache that words cannot fully express, but the love she gave so freely, and the faith that carried her, will continue to live on in every life she touched.
