Alfonso Hernandez, a devoted family man and skilled professional known for his work in the remodeling of cellular stores, smoke shops, and more, passed away on May 5, 2026, in Cleveland, Texas. Born on January 23, 1971, in Ebano San Luis Potosi, Mexico, Alfonso’s life was marked by dedication to both his craft and his loved ones.

Throughout his career, Alfonso applied his talents with diligence and care, contributing significantly to the industries he served. Beyond his professional endeavors, he found great joy in music, particularly tropical genres and especially the sounds of his native group, Selva Negra. His passion for music was deeply intertwined with cherished memories, especially his fondness for the song “Gema” and the gardenias blooming to the rhythm of boleros. Alfonso’s favorite color was blue, a detail that reflected his unique spirit.

Family and friendship were at the heart of Alfonso’s life. He treasured spending time with his wife, Rutila Hernandez, and his children, Alfonso Hernandez and Maritza Hernandez. His legacy is carried on by his beloved grandchildren: Edeina, Erick, Francely, Geovani, Sofia, and Catalina. Alfonso’s familial bonds extended to his siblings—Guillermina, Benjamin, Guadalupe, Mariano, Maria, and Emilio—who remain as living connections to his vibrant heritage.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Jose and Laura Hernandez, as well as other dear family members including Cruz, Antonio, Jose, Juan, Antonia, Amelia, and Lucio. Their memories live on through those who knew Alfonso best and through stories that celebrate a life well-lived.

Alfonso was also known for his love of travel, often journeying to other states for work, and he reveled in the company of family and friends, who brought warmth to his everyday life. His compassionate nature and steadfast commitment to those he cared about were evident in all that he did.

Visitation will be held on May 8, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. at the Hernandez residence in Cleveland, TX, located at 23589 Goode Rd. The Rosary will take place the same evening, beginning at 9:00 p.m. and concluding at 10:00 p.m. These gatherings will provide an opportunity for family, friends, and community members to honor Alfonso’s memory and offer support to his surviving loved ones.
