Martha ‘Marty’ Brashier McCarty, 83, of Liberty, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2026, at her residence.
Martha was born July 29, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, to parents Clifford (C.R.) and Clara V. Green Brashier, and was a former resident of Slidell, Louisiana, and Baytown, Texas. She was a graduate of Liberty High School, co-owner of a family oil field business, and enjoyed keeping in touch with lifelong friends from grade school and high school, Mary Larkin Herrmann-Guinn, Beverly Monroe Hylton, and Thelma Marberry Straham.
Mrs. McCarty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Billy Joe McCarty, and her son: Bruce Russell McCarty. She is survived by her daughter: Stephanie Diane Johnson and husband Jerry, son: Todd C. McCarty and wife Elena, daughter-in-law: Yolanda M. Moore, sister: Bonnie Davis and husband Bob, grandchildren: Megan Diane Pickett, John Brandon Flowers, McKenzie Kendall Flowers, Caitlin Elaine McCarty, Edith Renee McCarty, and Emmie Joe McCarty, numerous great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 8, 2026, at the Cooke Cemetery in Liberty.
