With profound sorrow and cherished remembrance, we announce the passing of Elizabeth Ann Farmer, a beloved mother, grandmother, and treasured friend, who departed this life on May 13, 2026, in Mathis, Texas. Born on Aug. 4, 1942, in Beaumont, Texas, Ann’s journey was marked by unwavering dedication, boundless love, and an enduring spirit that touched all who had the privilege to know her.

Ann was a consummate homemaker whose nurturing nature was evident in every facet of her life. Her career was distinguished by 21 years of devoted service as an Assistant Distributor of Houston Chronicle, where her diligence and warmth enriched the workplace. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Ann’s entrepreneurial spirit flourished as the proud owner of the Fillin Station Cafe in Shepherd, Texas—a place where her community felt at home and where her culinary talents shone brightest.

Known for her exceptional cooking skills and remarkable talent in cake-making, Ann cultivated a legacy of hospitality and care that will linger warmly in the hearts of those she fed and befriended. Beyond the kitchen, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life, notably her love for bowling, which brought her camaraderie and delight through countless gatherings.

Those who knew Ann will remember her as a loving and caring individual, a pillar of strength and kindness whose presence was a balm in times of trial and a beacon of joy in moments of celebration. Her personality was a true reflection of her nurturing soul, and she leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories woven from years of shared laughter, compassion, and devoted family ties.

Ann’s earthly sojourn concluded peacefully in Mathis, yet she leaves behind an extraordinary family lineage that stands as a testament to her enduring spirit. She is survived by her children: Beth Ann Kay; Rhonda Jane Bean and her husband James; William Alton Farmer Jr. and his wife Lisa Jo; and Amy Helen Salisbury. Her loving sisters, Sue Tolbert and Linda Sizemore with her husband Royce, also carry her memory forward with deep affection.

Her legacy extends through her cherished grandchildren: Jeremy, Jennifer, Bobby Jr., Chairty, Allen, John, Matthew, Dallas, Hollie, Brooklynn, Nikki, Cherie, Vanessa, and Brigzton. Further blessed by the presence of 37 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren, Ann’s family tree proudly flourishes under her devoted care.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, William Alton Farmer Sr., whose partnership was a cornerstone of her life; her beloved parents, Thomas Haynie and Stella Fry; her dear brother, Herscel Haynie; and her son-in-law, Bobby Kay. Their memories accompany her on this final, peaceful journey.

The community is invited to honor and celebrate the life of  Ann Farmer at Neal Funeral Home located at 200 S Washington Ave, Cleveland, Texas 77327, on May 17, 2026. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM. Following her service an interment will take place at Farley Chapel Cemetery in Shepherd, Texas alongside her husband. These moments of gathering will provide an opportunity to pay tribute to a remarkable woman whose heart embraced all with love and generosity.

 Ann Farmer’s legacy is one of devotion: to family, to her work, and to the many lives she touched through her kindness and steadfast presence. Her memory will endure as a beacon of light and love, forever cherished and never forgotten.
