McKinley Homes celebrates ribbon cutting at new River Ranch model home

John Sullivan cuts the ribbon Thursday, May 21, during the grand opening celebration for McKinley Homes’ new model home in the River Ranch community in Dayton.

McKinley Homes and the Trinity Valley Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting celebration Thursday, May 21, at McKinley’s new model home in the River Ranch community in Dayton.

The event drew a large crowd, including numerous real estate agents from across the region, as McKinley Homes officially marked its return to the growing River Ranch development located off SH 146 south of Dayton.

John Sullivan, vice president of McKinley Homes, welcomed attendees and expressed excitement about the company’s continued growth in the area.

“We’re really excited to be in River Ranch again and hopefully you guys can bring a lot of customers out there and find great homes in this neighborhood,” Sullivan said. “It’s a wonderful spot and we’re super excited to be here.”

Following the ribbon cutting, Shayla King of McKinley Homes shared details about the company’s plans within the community. She said McKinley currently has six inventory homes available and has already purchased more than 40 lots for future home construction in River Ranch.

According to King, buyers can choose between 50-foot-wide and 60-foot-wide lots, with the larger lots capable of accommodating two-story homes up to approximately 3,400 square feet.

“All of our homes have attached garages and the option to add a third garage as well,” King said.

Home prices in the community begin around $389,000 and can exceed $600,000 depending on the size and customization options selected.

King said one of the biggest attractions for buyers is River Ranch’s proximity to Angel Lagoon, the large crystal lagoon attraction that has become a centerpiece of the development. She also noted the community’s walkability and convenient location near Baytown and Mont Belvieu.

“So you can live in a community and near a city here that is cozy and if you want to get into the complete chaos of Houston, that’s just 40 minutes away by car,” she said.

McKinley Homes also offers buyers extensive customization options, allowing them to personalize finishes including paint colors, flooring, lighting, cabinetry and exterior features.

“You can truly customize these homes for sure,” King said.

She added that homes built to custom specifications generally take between five and six months to complete.

The McKinley Homes sales office is located at 206 Estelle Court in Dayton and is open seven days a week. Hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 7 p.m.
