The Hull-Daisetta Golden Oldies (GO) proudly awarded five $3,000 scholarships this year to graduating seniors of Hull-Daisetta High School, continuing the organization’s commitment to supporting local students and investing in the future of the community. This year’s recipients are Alex Garcia, Mia Whitehead, Kendryck Parrish, Amaree Patterson and Kaylin Pavliska.

The Golden Oldies is a multi-generational alumni association made up of former students and friends of Hull-Daisetta schools from the Hull, Daisetta, and Raywood communities. Each year, the organization hosts a reunion event that brings alumni back home to reconnect with lifelong friends, share memories, and celebrate the proud history of Hull-Daisetta ISD.

This year’s event will hold special significance as the community celebrates the 100th anniversary of Hull-Daisetta ISD. On September 23, 1926, the Texas Legislature passed the bill creating the school district, which was later signed into law by the Governor of Texas.

Over the past century, Hull-Daisetta schools have produced many accomplished and respected citizens who have gone on to serve their communities, state, and nation in numerous professions and fields of achievement.

Members of the Golden Oldies take great pride in the district’s tradition of excellence. Throughout its history, Hull-Daisetta ISD has earned recognition for success in both academics and athletics, while also fostering strong community values and lifelong friendships that continue across generations.

The 2026 Golden Oldies reunion event will be held on Friday, Sept. 4, at the new Community Building in Daisetta. Organizers expect alumni and friends from many graduating classes to attend as the community gathers to celebrate the district’s centennial anniversary and honor the lasting legacy of Hull-Daisetta schools.

The Golden Oldies organization hopes the scholarships and annual reunion continue to strengthen community ties and encourage future generations of Hull-Daisetta students to pursue their goals while remembering the hometown that helped shape them.
