Billy Wayne Brannon

Billy Wayne Brannon was born Jan. 22, 1936, in Jasper, Texas to parents, Jesse Dean Brannon and Sally Woods Brannon. He passed away in Cleveland, Texas on May 26, 2026, at the age of 90.

Bill proudly served our country in the US Navy and was an electronic engineer. Bill worked in the electronic industry until his retirement from there in the 1990s. He owned his own company for many years and opened Texas Pit BBQ restaurant while living in Arizona. After moving back to Texas in 2000, Bill and Wilma enjoyed serving BBQ back home as well. He fully retired to his family farm in Cleveland, Texas in 2010.

Bill loved animals of all kinds and took great pleasure in raising show pigs and show rabbits for kids to show in 4H, FFA and many other livestock shows. He also raised chickens and cows on the farm. Bill especially loved when his great-grandchildren would come visit and enjoy all the animals and country the farm had for them.

The most important thing in Bill’s life however, was his love for His Lord Jesus Christ. He would always tell those he encountered about his Savior.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Dean Brannon; mother, Sally Maresh; stepfather, Lewis Maresh; stepmother, Byrel Brannon.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Wilma Brannon; sons, David Wayne Brannon and wife Linda, and Jeffrey Stuart Brannon and wife Kelly; sister, Jean Voan; 7 grandchildren, Jonathan Brannon and wife Kate; Laura Brannon Halloran and husband Kevin; Mary Brannon and husband Jared Mullowney; Katie Brannon; Jesse Brannon and wife Krystin; Ariel Wiser; and Ethan Brannon and wife Amber; 9 great-grandchildren, Austyn Gallaway, Emersyn Brannon, Maisyn Brannon and Tucker Brannon; Rory Halloran and Ella Halloran; Lenore Lembo; Georgia Neidig and David Neidig.

Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home from 2-4 p.m. Funeral Service will be Monday, June 1, 2026, in the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel at 10 a.m. Burial will be at 2 p.m., in the Oak Knoll Cemetery in Bellville, Texas with military honors provided by the US Navy.
