The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash involving a bicyclist near 22098 Loop 494 in New Caney.
According to a preliminary investigation, troopers responded to the scene at about 10:20 a.m. June 4 and found a deceased adult male bicyclist in a ditch along the northbound side of Loop 494.
Investigators said the victim left his nearby residence at about 9:30 p.m. June 3.
Evidence indicates an unknown vehicle traveling northbound on Loop 494 struck the bicyclist from behind and fled the scene. Investigators believe the crash occurred late June 3.
The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The investigation remains active, and no additional information is available at this time.
