Kenneth Ray Frazier Sr.

It is with deep sadness, yet faith in God’s promise of eternal life, that we announce the passing of Kenneth Ray Frazier Sr., age 89, on June 7, 2026. He was born on Feb. 15, 1937, in Liberty, Texas.

Ray was raised in Liberty, Texas, where he attended LISD and upon completion enlisted into the United States Army where he served from Sept. 7, 1956, receiving an honorable discharge Aug. 26, 1959, with 1 year and 8 months of that overseas in France.  He then married his wife of 60 years in 1964 and raised his family in his hometown of Liberty. Throughout his life he worked for various companies in Liberty, most notably for many years at KDR Supply, where he retired at the age of 72 and in 2022 moved to Hemphill, Texas where he loved to sit on the porch and watch the wildlife on Toledo Bend Lake.

Ray lived his life with dedication and a servant’s heart to Jesus Christ.  A man of strong faith, Ray loved the Lord and sought to reflect his love through his actions. He deeply cherished his family and found joy in sharing  God’s word with those that crossed his path.  He enjoyed the outdoors where he raised chickens and gardened. He was also known for collecting model cars and loved to share them with anyone interested.  

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Ellis and Bessie Lee (Ariola) Frazier, his brothers, Derry Ellis Frazier, Ralph Justin Frazier and Buddy Floyd Frazier. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Elsie Faye (Smith) Frazier of Hemphill, one brother, Robin Frazier (Linda) of Liberty, children, La Vonna Templeton (Michael) of Hardin, LaDonna Murphy (Jeff) of Hemphill, Monica Ballard (Joseph)of Daisetta, Kenneth Frazier Jr. (Julie) of New Caney, Nellie Weaver (Doug) of Carlsbad, NM. 

Also, grandchildren- Michael Templeton Jr. (Tiffany) of Liberty, Mark Templeton (Marissa) of Devers, Katie Templeton Worthy (Robert) of Liberty, Amanda Murphy Hicks (Darrell) of Liberty, Keri Murphy Elliott of Dayton, Chelsea Ballard of Channelview, Dakota Ballard of Huntsville, Emilee Frazier Johnson (Darrell) of Fort Worth, Jax Frazier of New Caney, Matthew Weaver of Eagen, MN., and Nathan Weaver of Las Cruces, NM., great grandchildren- Kalynn, Kylie, Hunter, Harley, Kennedy, Braxton Templeton, Brogan Worthy, Kenzi McKey Miller (RJ), Kutter McKey, Hagen and Charli Elliott, Martin and Isabella Collette, and great great granddaughters- Oaklee Miller and Mia Johnson

The Family would like to thank Legacies Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation along with Heart-to-Heart Hospice for taking care of our precious Dad and loving him like we do.

Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Sandy Creek Missionary Baptist Church, 711 Whitetail Road in Bronson, Texas, 75930, with Bro. Robert Byley, Jr. officiating. 

Cremation arrangements were handled by Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill.
