The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a former nanny and babysitter in connection with an ongoing child abuse investigation and is asking anyone with information to come forward.
On June 17, 2026, investigators with the Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit arrested 21-year-old Evan Joseph Moore on a charge of indecency with a child.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the investigation began after authorities received allegations involving Moore, who had worked as a babysitter and nanny in Montgomery County for several years. During the investigation, one child younger than 14 disclosed alleged sexual abuse by Moore.
Moore was taken into custody without incident and remains charged with indecency with a child. Investigators said additional charges could be filed as the investigation continues.
Because of Moore’s previous employment as a caregiver, investigators believe there may be additional victims. The Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone who may have been victimized by Moore to contact the Special Victims Unit at 936-760-5876.
Anonymous tips may also be submitted through Multi-County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-392-STOP (7867) or online.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said it remains committed to protecting children and pursuing justice for victims of abuse.
