James Reuben Peavy was born Dec. 2, 1948, in Houston, Texas, to parents, Edwin Merle Peavy and Hazel Jewell Lum Peavy. He passed away in High Island, Texas, on June 13, 2026, at the age of 77.
James proudly served our country during the Vietnam War in the US Army. He was a journeyman lineman and he loved living on the coast.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Hazel Peavy; wife, Sheila Kay Peavy; son, David Keith Peavy; sister, Sue Johnson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Paula Peavy; beloved son, Richard Kal Peavy and wife Jennifer; beloved daughter, Keletha Jean Brown and husband Kasey; beloved grandchildren, Kasey Glenn Brown Jr, Madison Avery Peavy, Kay Marie Peavy, Gail Jewell Peavy, Reuben Jack Peavy, Nicole Peavy, Justin Peavy, and Alexa Brett Burt.
Graveside Service is scheduled for Monday, July 6, 2026, at 11 a.m., in Lum’s Garden of Memories in Macedonia, Texas with Bro. Carl Williamson officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the US Army.
