Hoyt Richard Clevenger, Jr.

Hoyt Richard Clevenger, Jr., of Liberty, Texas, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2026, in Baytown.

Hoyt was born May 4, 1952, in Nashville, Tenn., to parents, Hoyt Richard Clevenger, Sr. and Kathleen Hood-Clevenger, a former resident of Pasadena, and has resided in Liberty since 1996.

He graduated from Lane Tech High School in Chicago, Illinois, received his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Communications from Lamar University, and was a chemical plant operator from numerous companies, and retired from Training and Development Systems (TDS) in Beaumont, where he wrote operational procedural manuals for companies like Chevron-Phillips in Saudi Arabia. Hoyt enjoyed playing the guitar, writing music, and computers, where he designed motherboards with his company PC Tours.

Mr. Clevenger was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Faye Diana Riedy-Clevenger, and sister: Kathleen Diane Clevenger-Leatherbery. He is survived by his daughter: Rev. Cori Raylene Clevenger, sons: Hoyt Richard Clevenger, III and wife Melissa Rose, Christian Storm, and David Wayne Clevenger, grandchildren: Felicia Gail Clevenger-Paul and husband Sam and Justice Talon Storm and wife Josey, great-grandchildren: Elliott Paul, Talon Storm, and Ember Storm, numerous other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 9 – 11 a.m., with funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at The First United Methodist Church Memorial Chapel, with interment following at Cooke Memorial Cemetery in Liberty.
