George Wilburn Rucker was born Aug. 9, 1946, in Houston, Texas, to parents, Martin Young Rucker and Helen New Rucker. He passed away in Katy, Texas, on July 1, 2026, at the age of 79.
George was a well educated man and a graduate of Stephen F. Austin University. He served as the General Manager for Alpine Air Conditioning for many years before his retirement. George loved to play golf and made many friends while playing.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Helen Rucker; brother- in- law, Clyde Lee Somers; nephews, Keith Somers and Kyle Somers; great-nephew, Brian Andrew Somers.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Martha Abel Rucker; beloved brother, Larry Rucker and wife Nancy; beloved sister, Beverly Somers; nephews, Kevin Somers, Mark Rucker, Gerald Rucker; niece, Sherri Weaver; and extended family members and friends. Burial was Friday, July 3, 2026, at 1 p.m., in the Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens Cemetery in Cleveland, Texas.
