Liberty library to host Dinosaur George Museum on July 28

The Liberty Municipal Library is excited to welcome back, The Dinosaur George Museum, a traveling dinosaur museum and gift shop, on July 28 from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the Liberty Center. The museum will round out the Liberty Municipal Library’s Summer Reading Program 2026, “Unearth a Story.” There is no cost to attend. If you have not participated in the summer reading program, there is still time to sign up and participate. There are still programs on the way this summer.

For Children

The animals are coming to town at 2:30 p.m. on July 9 with Wild Things Zoofari held in the Liberty Center. Introducing Mad Hatter with his take on bubbles on Thursday, July 16, in the Liberty Center at 2:30 p.m. Take a breather and relax in with movies on July 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the theater in the Geraldine D. Humphreys Cultural Center. Make sure to turn in time logs to qualify for top reader and prizes by July 25. 

For Teens (ages 13-18)

Bring extra clothing, expect to get wet on July 10 at 2 p.m. with water slide, water balloons, and some water guns. For extra fun, bring your own water guns. Relax with Jurassic movies on July 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the theater with the Jurassic World Trilogy. Smash Bros. Tournament will round out the program on July 24 at 2p.m.

For Adults (ages 18+)

Dinosaur Safari, a City-Wide Scavenger Hunt will take place from July 6– 11. Get ready for the Dino Hunt with laser tag on July 17 at 6 p.m. Jurassic Trivia, Dinosaur trivia with a twist, will round out the program on July 24 at 6 p.m.

Registration and library cards are free to Texas residents.  Sign up online, use the QR code, or come into the library to sign up for six weeks of reading fun and excitement. The children’s program is for ages 0-12, the teen program is for ages 13-18, and the adult program is for ages 18-plus.  Library staff are looking forward to seeing everyone this summer as they “Unearth a Story.”

The Liberty Municipal Library is located at 1710 Sam Houston Street in Liberty, inside the Geraldine D. Humphreys Cultural Center.
