William ‘Jerry’ J. Dozier

William ‘Jerry’ J. Dozier, 92, of Liberty, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 10, 2026, at home in Liberty, Texas.

William was born on March 16, 1934, in Avon Park, Fla., to the late William Walter and Ella Lee Bacon Dozier. A resident of Liberty for 58 years and formerly of Batson, he built a life centered on faith, family, and fellowship. Mr. Dozier was a retired technician for Sears, of the Methodist faith, and enjoyed fishing, barbecuing, camping, woodworking, gardening, and working puzzles.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Carol; his granddaughter, Kayla D’Ann Mitchell; his brother, James Roger Dozier his in-laws, Johnny Ray Corley and Garnet Lilly Jordan Guedry; and. brothers-in-law, Douglas Ray Corley, Emery Deaki.

William leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughters, Janis Turman and husband Jamie, and Vicki Iler; his grandchildren, Nicole Huiet and husband Chance, Bo Turman and wife Racheal, Colton Iler, and Cara Iler; his ten great-grandchildren; his sister, Janice Deaki; brother, Julian David Dozier and wife Sandra; and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends.

Friends are invited to visit with the family beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026, in the chapel at Allison Funeral Service, 1101 N. Travis St., Liberty, Texas 77575. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor officiating. Following the service, a graveside and committal ceremony will take place at Guedry Cemetery in Batson, Texas.

Honoring the family as serving as pallbearers will be Jamie Turman, Bo Turman, Chance Huiet, Colton Iler, Kevin Connor Martinez, and Richard Smalley.

William’s legacy of faith, love, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
