Sharon Lee Scott, age 82, of Cleveland, Texas, peacefully departed this world on July 14, 2026. She was born on September 7, 1943, in Decatur, Illinois.
Sharon was a faithful servant of the Lord whose life was a shining example of love, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family. She retired from Tarkington ISD after many years of dedicated service as a custodian, where she was known for her strong work ethic and caring spirit.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert Allan Strothers and Ethel Louise Strothers.
Sharon is survived by her beloved husband of 34 years, Rev. Joseph Franklin Scott; her children, Valerie McDonald, Danny Martin and wife Cindy, Patty Turner, Debra Meyer and husband Scott, Michael D. Scott and wife Angela, and Kelly Sunkle and husband David. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Amber Marie Burnett and husband Joshua, Ashley Bochar and husband Jacob, along with many other beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of dear friends.
To know Sharon was to love her. She was the heart of her family—the matriarch who welcomed everyone with open arms, unconditional love, and wise counsel. Whether you needed a warm hug or a swift kick in your behind, Sharon always knew exactly what was needed. Her love was steadfast, her generosity endless, and her presence brought comfort to all who knew her.
Sharon had a servant’s heart and a gentle soul. It was often said that she wouldn’t hurt anyone—not even a snake. Her kindness knew no bounds, and her warm smile could brighten even the darkest day. She had a remarkable way of lighting up every room she entered and making everyone feel seen, valued, and loved.
One of Sharon’s greatest joys was cooking and baking for the people she loved. Family and friends knew that no one ever left her home hungry. Her kitchen was a place of fellowship, laughter, and cherished memories, where meals were prepared with love and shared with joy.
Above all, Sharon treasured her family and friends. She poured her heart into caring for others and leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, hospitality, and unconditional love. Though she will be deeply missed, her gentle spirit and the countless lives she touched will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know her.
Her memory will forever be held close by her family and friends, who will honor her life by carrying forward the love, grace, and compassion she so freely gave to everyone around her.
A visitation for Sharon will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Neal Funeral Home, 200 S. Washington Ave. Cleveland, Texas. Her funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at the same location.
