Kathy Dell Tullos, age 71, of Huffman, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family and dear friends on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Kingwood Hospital.
Born on June 21, 1955, in Talladega, Ala., Kathy lived a life defined by love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to the people she cherished most. She had a gentle heart, a beautiful smile, and a way of making everyone around her feel welcome, loved, and cared for.
Throughout their 52 years of marriage, Kathy stood faithfully beside her husband, Steve, loving and caring for him with unwavering devotion. Her love was not measured by grand gestures, but by the countless quiet sacrifices she made each day to ensure her family was cared for and never doubted how deeply they were loved.
Kathy was also a devoted and loving mother who gave her whole heart to her children. They were the center of her world, and she never hesitated to put their needs before her own. Whether offering encouragement, comfort, guidance, or simply being there whenever they needed her, she gave everything she had to her family. Her children always knew they were unconditionally loved, and the values she instilled, the memories she created, and the love she shared will remain with them forever.
Family meant everything to Kathy. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother, caring sister, and treasured aunt. Nothing made her happier than spending time with those she loved. Whether preparing a meal, lending a helping hand, offering words of encouragement, or simply being there, Kathy’s love was shown through her selfless acts of kindness. She always put others before herself and found true happiness in caring for those around her.
Kathy shared an especially close bond with her beloved sister, Pam. The two could often be found talking late into the night—sometimes until two o’clock in the morning—sharing stories, laughter, and the kind of friendship only sisters can have. Those conversations were among Kathy’s greatest treasures.
Her nieces and nephews held an incredibly special place in Kathy’s heart. She loved each of them as if they were her own children, and to many of them, she was like a second mother. She celebrated their accomplishments, comforted them through life’s challenges, and surrounded them with unwavering love and support. Kathy also made sure they knew how to enjoy life. She taught them how to have fun, filling their lives with laughter, adventures, and unforgettable memories. To each of them, she wasn’t just their aunt—she was their “fun aunt,” a title she wore proudly and one that will forever bring smiles to their hearts.
Her grandchildren were one of the greatest blessings of Kathy’s life. She adored each one and treasured every moment spent making memories with them. Whether sharing laughter, offering words of encouragement, or simply enjoying time together, she made each grandchild feel deeply loved and incredibly special. Her love for her family was limitless.
Kathy was also overjoyed with the anticipation of becoming a great-grandmother for the very first time. She eagerly looked forward to meeting that precious little one, and although she was called home before that day could come, the love she already carried for her great-grandchild was immeasurable. Her family will forever cherish the excitement she shared and the joy that filled her heart as she looked forward to this beautiful new chapter. The legacy of her love will continue to live on for generations to come.
Kathy also had a tender heart for animals, especially her beloved cats. She never turned away an animal in need and found great joy in caring for them. Her compassion extended far beyond people, reflecting the loving and nurturing person she was.
She was preceded in death by her loving father, William Hubert; her beloved mother, Gladys Irene Wyatt Hileman; her loving stepfather, Randy Hileman; and her brother, Ronnie Wyatt.
Kathy leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband of 52 years, Steve Tullos; her beloved daughter, Stephanie McAnally and husband Aaron; her loving son, Steven Tullos and wife Cherie; her cherished sister, Pam Tullos and husband L.C.; her treasured grandchildren, Brittany Weatherall, Blake McAnally, Cheyenne Tullos, Alexis Tullos, Leah Tullos, Tommy Clark, Emily Clark, Dakota Willyerd, and Colby Davis; her cherished nieces and nephews, Melanie Kittelson, David Tullos, Bubba Tullos, William Tullos, Rhonda Brittain, and Joe Wyatt; along with numerous extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were blessed by knowing her.
Kathy’s kindness, gentle spirit, and unconditional love will never be forgotten. Though her family is heartbroken by her passing, they find comfort in knowing her love will remain with them forever—in every cherished memory, every family gathering, every laugh shared, and every act of kindness inspired by the beautiful life she lived. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
