Frances Elizabeth Harden, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and treasured friend, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, at the age of 95. Born on Sept. 28, 1930, in New York City, New York, Frances lived a life centered on family, kindness, and unconditional love. She found joy in caring for those around her and leaves behind a legacy of strength, compassion, and countless cherished memories that will forever live in the hearts of those who loved her.
Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Robert Harden; her loving parents, John and Elizabeth Braun; and all of her brothers and sisters.
Nothing brought Frances greater joy than spending time with her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the center of her world, and she treasured every opportunity to gather them together. She expressed her love in countless ways, especially through the meals she lovingly prepared. Her delicious Italian dishes and hearty Sunday roasts became family favorites, creating traditions and memories that will be cherished for generations to come.
A woman who never liked to sit still, Frances always found joy in keeping busy. She loved spending time outdoors, whether relaxing in her yard, soaking up the sunshine, or watching the hummingbirds that frequently visited. She found peace in nature and took great pride in creating a warm and welcoming home where family and friends always felt loved.
Frances also loved visiting the beach, where the sound of the waves and the warmth of the sunshine brought her comfort and happiness. Whether she was preparing a meal for her family, enjoying a beautiful day outdoors, or spending time with the people she loved most, she lived each day with purpose, gratitude, and a generous heart.
Above all else, Frances loved her family with every part of her heart. She was a devoted and loving mother, a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, and a loyal friend. Her kindness, strength, wisdom, and unconditional love were gifts she shared freely, and her family will forever be grateful for the countless sacrifices she made and the beautiful example she set.
She leaves behind to cherish her precious memory her loving sons, Wayne Harden and wife, Elizabeth, and Kenneth Harden and life partner, Kandy; her beloved grandchildren, Michael and wife, Sandra; Lisa and husband, Shanon; Robert and wife, Kimberly; Jonathan and girlfriend, Carrie; Jennifer and husband, Jonathan; and William; her treasured great-grandchildren, Coby, Wesley, Mason, Cody, Selah, Gillian, Benjamin, Jade, Nahum, Mary Grace, Nehemiah, Amelia, Xeric, Alora, Jacob, Dravin, and Charlotte; along with many other cherished family members and treasured friends whose lives were forever enriched by her love and friendship.
Although her family will miss her deeply, they find comfort in knowing that the love she gave so freely, the traditions she created, and the memories she leaves behind will continue to live on in their hearts for generations to come. Frances’s legacy is one of love, resilience, generosity, and devotion to family—a legacy that will never be forgotten.
