Angila Kay Newham Carter, lovingly known as “Mimi” and “Angie” to many, went home to be with the Lord on July 30, 2026, in The Woodlands, Texas, at the age of 58. Born on March 19, 1968, in Houston, Texas, Angie’s life was a testament to resilience, faith, and an unwavering devotion to her loved ones.
In her younger years, Angie had a competitive spirit and a love for sports that never really left her. She enjoyed being part of a team, embraced every challenge, and always gave her best. That determination became one of the defining qualities of her life, carrying her through every season with strength, resilience, and an unwavering sense of purpose.
Angie worked as an accountant for GCP Drywall, where she was known for being dependable, hardworking, and someone others could always count on. She approached every task with dedication, but the way she treated people left the greatest impression. Quick with a joke, refreshingly honest, and never afraid to speak her mind, Angie had a gift for making people feel comfortable while also telling them exactly what they needed to hear. She was the kind of person who couldn’t stand to see someone struggling without stepping in to help.
There wasn’t much Angie couldn’t fix. Whether it was her car, something around the house that needed repairing, or a problem someone couldn’t figure out, she took pride in finding a solution. Helping others came naturally to her, and she found joy in using her knowledge and talents to make life a little easier for the people she loved.
When she wasn’t working, Angie found happiness in the things that made a house feel like a home. She loved crocheting, and she found peace being outside tending to her garden, where every flower and plant reflected the care she poured into it. Her home was a place where everyone was welcome. Angie’s honesty, strength, and steadfast love touched countless lives, and the memories she created with those who knew her will continue to bring comfort, smiles, and gratitude for years to come.
To those blessed to know her, Angie’s greatest source of pride was her family. She is survived by her beloved children: Christopher Wayne Carter and wife Brittany, Kayla Ann Carter and Allyssa Michelle Carter. Her legacy lives on in her cherished grandchildren: Jacelyn Carter, Kylah Carter, Kynleigh Carter, Koralyn Carter, Kolton Harvey, Austin Rice Jr., Zoey Rice, Jayden Svoboda, Kadin Clark, Paisley Clark, Julian Clark, Cory Clark, Karter Clark, and a grandson on the way.
Angie is also remembered by her loving mother, Gloria Jean Howard; her loyal siblings: Jason Dale Howard and wife Polly, James Paul Howard, Sheila Ann Newham, Tracey Lynn Cox and husband Matt, and Misty Darlene Reyna; along with numerous other loving family members and treasured friends.
Angie is welcomed into the gates of heaven by her dear father, David Wayne Newham; her step-father, Roger Dale Howard; grandparents, Paul Ruben Hadley, Beatrice Helen Hadley, Roy Albert Newham, and Alice Lucile Newham; her precious granddaughter Aubriee Kaye Harvey, and her dear friend and former mother-in-law, Julia Faye Carter.
In honor of Angie’s memory, a visitation will be held at Neal Funeral Home, located at 200 S Washington Ave, Cleveland, TX 77327, on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held the following day, Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., also located at Neal Funeral Home. Angie will be laid to rest at M+ Ranch Muirhead Memorial Cemetery, located at 25193 Blackburn Dr, Splendora, TX 77372.
Angila Kay Newham Carter will be deeply missed and forever cherished. Her memory, faith, and example continue to inspire all who knew her.
