Eleven indictments returned against former Liberty County Housing Authority board chairman Klint Bush provide additional details about the child pornography charges that led to his arrest last week.
Bush, who also previously was the Liberty County Elections administrator, was arrested Friday, Aug. 7, on 11 counts of Possession of Child Pornography.
The indictments, returned by a Liberty County grand jury, allege that Bush intentionally and knowingly possessed visual material depicting a child younger than 18 years old engaging in sexual conduct, specifically described in the indictments as “actual lewd exhibition of the genitals.”
Each indictment pertains to a separate alleged piece of visual material. All the indictments have the same wording except the reference to the digital identification number assigned to an image.
The indictments allege that these offenses occurred on or about Dec. 8, 2022, in Liberty County. They cite Section 43.26 of the Texas Penal Code, which addresses possession or promotion of child pornography.
All 11 charges are third-degree felonies. In Texas, a person convicted of a third-degree felony faces a prison sentence ranging from two to 10 years and may also be fined up to $10,000.
Bush was taken into custody at his home in Hardin, Texas, on Aug. 7. The latest charges add to a series of criminal cases Bush has faced in recent years.
Bush was named Liberty County’s first elections administrator in 2019. The position has since been eliminated, with election duties returned to the Liberty County Clerk’s Office.
In December 2022, Bush was arrested on charges of Abuse of Official Capacity and Theft following simultaneous raids at his home and the Liberty County Housing Authority offices. The raids were conducted by investigators with the Texas Rangers, Liberty County District Attorney’s Office and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Office of Inspector General.
Bush was later charged with two counts of Abuse of Official Capacity, two counts of Theft of Property and one count of Housing Authority Interested Commissioners stemming from the same investigation.
In April 2026, Bush was charged with Misappropriation of Fiduciary or Financial Property, also related to the previous cases.
Those cases remain pending.
As of Thursday, Aug. 12, Bush remained in the Liberty County Jail. No bond has been set.
