
Gary Vance Giddens, 86, of Dayton passed away Friday, Aug. 21, 2026, in Baytown.
Gary was born May 22, 1940, in Leander, Texas, to parents; Vance and Lois Hughes Giddens, he was a former resident of Baytown and has resided in the Dayton area since 1975. He was a graduate of Leander High School, a retired maintenance supervisor from DuPont, and Methodist by faith. In his spare time Gary enjoyed drag racing in his 66 Mustang by which he was awarded a Wally award.
Mr. Giddens was preceded in death by his father, his mother, a daughter; Deborah Nugent son; Doug Nugent, sister; Barbara Ray, father-in-law; Ralph McNeil, and son-in-law; Kevin Glenn.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years; Diane Tanner Giddens, son; Tray Giddens, daughter; Tracy Glenn, daughter; Michaela Phelan and husband William, grandchildren; Liberty “Libby” Vandenheuvel, Ryan Nugent, Haley Nugent, Hayden Nugent, James Grorich, Benjamin Grorich, Jace Phelan, and Vanessa Phelan, and numerous other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at a celebration of life service at 2 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 29 2026, at the Ranch Office on East freeway in Baytown.
