
Chester “Chet” Murray Tims, 72, of Liberty, Texas, passed away Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, in Houston, Texas.
Chet was born Oct. 31, 1953, in Liberty, Texas, to Donald E. Tims Sr. and Pauline Ruth Davis Tims. A lifelong resident of Liberty, he graduated from Liberty High School with the Class of 1972. He went on to work in the oil field industry as a manager and supervisor for EEW, and he also spent time working as a paralegal.
Chet was an experimental pilot and a member of the EAPA. He enjoyed flying his airplane, riding motorcycles—including dirt bikes and Harley-Davidsons—playing the guitar, and speed water skiing. His adventurous spirit and many interests brought joy to those who knew him.
Mr. Tims was preceded in death by his parents, Donald E. Tims Sr. and Pauline Ruth Davis Tims; his brother, Donald Tims Jr.; and his sister, Lynne Tims Ward.
He is survived by his brother, Paul Tims and wife Karen; nieces and nephews, Josh Ward, Kelli Tims and wife Janet, Courtney Scheffler, Kase Scheffler, Mason Henicke and fiancée Blaire, and Becca Henike; brother-in-law, Chuck Ward; and numerous other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, 2026, at Allison Funeral Service Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, 2026, at Allison Funeral Service Chapel, with interment following at Fairlawn Cemetery in Liberty.
