Debra was a true spitfire- strong-willed, independent, outspoken and never one to shy away from saying what was on her mind. She had a personality all her own and strength that carried her through many seasons of her life. She could be stubborn, feisty and at times wonderfully unpredictable. Those who knew her will remember her for her unmistakable personality, her strength and the way she always did things her own way. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories-some funny, some difficult, and many that will be cherished simply because they were hers.
Most importantly, Debra’s family finds comfort in knowing Jesus called her home. Her earthly battle is over, and she is now in the presence of her savior. While there is deep sadness in saying goodbye, there is also peace in knowing that death was not the end of her story. She is home.
She will be remembered for exactly who she was- a one of a kind woman with a big personality, a sharp tongue, a stubborn streak, a strong spirit, and a heart that could never be mistaken for anyone else’s. There will never be another Debra Lynn Berry.
Debra Lynn Berry was born June 10, 1957, in Erie, Penn., to parents, Carl LaBorde and Bonnie Thornton LaBorde, who preceded her in death. She passed away in Hull, Texas, on Sept. 14, 2026, at the age of 69. She is survived by her beloved husband of 34 years, Tom Berry; beloved daughters, April Kiker and husband Ehren Kiker, and Christine Moore and husband Josh Moore; beloved sisters, Sharon Voorhes and Linda LaBorde; beloved grandchildren, Keenan Charles, Kendall Charles, Calli Moore, Grace Kiker, and Josh Kiker.
