Tommie Lynn Greak

Tommie Lynn Greak, 66, passed away on Sept. 19, 2026, in Fernandina Beach, Fla., surrounded by the presence and love of a family who will miss her more than words can convey.

Born Feb. 10, 1960, to Thomas and Earline Orand, Tommie grew up in Liberty, Texas, a place that remained home for most of her life. Over the years, home would also mean a beloved lake house in Atascocita, some memorable years in Castle Rock, Colo., and finally Fernandina Beach, Fla., where she and her husband, Louis, settled into retirement together.

Tommie married Louis Samuel Greak on Jan. 26, 1978, beginning a life together that would take them through decades of family, work, travel, moves, celebrations, and adventures.

Throughout her career, Tommie worked for Farm Bureau Insurance in Liberty. She began as a receptionist and, through determination and hard work became a successful insurance agent.

She retired after twenty-five years of service, leaving behind not only a long career but many friendships formed along the way.

If there was one place where Tommie seemed most completely herself, it was the beach. She loved the water, the sunshine, and the happiness of being near the coast, making Fernandina Beach a fitting place for her final chapter. She was also an avid reader and an enthusiastic traveler who had the opportunity to visit many different countries and continents around the world.

Tommie loved color. Bright, cheerful colors filled her wardrobe, her home, and, in many ways, reflected her personality. She had a warmth about her that everyone noticed immediately. She was loving, friendly, joyful, and quick to make people feel welcome. Those who knew her will remember her smile, her kindness, and her infectious laugh.

Above all, Tommie loved her family. She was enormously proud of her grandsons, Carter and Silas, and took great joy in watching them grow into the remarkable young men they are becoming.

Her Christian faith was an important part of her life. She believed deeply in God’s love and the promise that death is not the end. That faith remained a source of meaning to her throughout her life, and brought her a sense of peace and comfort in the end.

Tommie leaves behind her husband, Louis Samuel Greak; her sons, Cory Greak of Beaufort, South Carolina, and Justin Greak of Singapore; daughter-in-law Michelle Greak and son-in-law Gary Hui; her beloved grandsons, Carter Greak and Silas Greak, both of Beaufort; sister, Pam Sellers of Bronson, Texas, along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends whose lives were made brighter by knowing her.

She now joins the loved ones who went before her, including her parents, Thomas and Earline Orand; her sisters, Judy Nolan and Sue Wiggins; and the beloved family pets who brought her so much joy: Muffy, Willie, Sam, and Cooper.

Tommie lived a life filled with family, friendship, color, books, travel, laughter, and plenty of days spent near the water. For the people who loved her, the world will feel noticeably less bright without her in it.

A service to celebrate Tommie’s life will be held at Allison Funeral Home in Liberty, Texas, on Oct. 10, at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask that you consider making a donation to cancer support groups in your local community or to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
