Rachel Navarro Bush, 69, of Houston, Texas, passed away on Sept. 18, 2026. She was born on Dec. 30, 1956, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Rachel will be remembered as a feisty woman with a great sense of humor. She was someone who always saw the light and the bright side of things, and that outlook touched the lives of those around her. She worked as a school bus driver for Alief ISD, a role through which she served her community with care and dedication.
Nothing meant more to Rachel than her family. Her grandchildren were her world, and she especially looked forward to family gatherings and cooking for the people she loved. She made a lasting impression through the warmth she shared so freely, and her words, “I Love You,” were a constant gift to everyone in the family.
She is survived by her daughters, Kristal Vasquez and Jessica Bush; her sister, Nelda Zachary, and husband, Thom; her aunt, Luisa Perea; and her dear friend, Robert Walker. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Jose Antonio Navarro, Johnathan Navarro, Juanfernando Vasquez, Jovany Vasquez, Kristal Fernanda Vasquez, Mariah Navarro, Samantha Navarro, and Adam Navarro Jr. Each of them carries forward the love, laughter, and strength that Rachel gave so generously.
Rachel was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Anthony Bush; her parents, Fidel and Rachel Garcia; her son, Adam Navarro Sr.; and her grandson, Julian Vargas.
Her family also extends a very special thank you to Davita Dialysis Center and to the friends she made there for their care and kindness.
Rachel Navarro Bush will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Her spirit, humor, devotion to family, and enduring words of love will remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
