Sofia Perez, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sept. 26, 2026. She was born on Sept. 18, 1957, in Yautepec, Morelos, Mexico.
Sofia was a faithful servant to the Lord and a woman who loved her family deeply. She was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Rufino Perez, for 56 years. Sofia loved Rufino very much and was always concerned for his well-being, making sure he was cared for and looked after.
Sofia was a retired seamstress who took great pride in her work. She found joy in the simple things in life, especially spending time with the people she loved. She loved cooking for her family and was happiest when she could prepare a meal for those around her. Sofia also enjoyed playing the lottery and loved caring for her beloved Chihuahuas, who brought her much happiness.
Her family was the center of her life, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and cherished memories.
Sofia is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Rufino Perez; her children, Rosa Murillo and husband Moises, Wences Perez, and Marco Antonio Perez; her grandchildren, Eduardo Murillo and wife Casandra, Angel Murillo and wife Aviella, Crystal Murillo, Rosie Murillo, Xochilt Perez, Monica Perez, Sofia Perez, and Mariano Perez; her brothers, Justino Capistran and wife Ofelia, and Marcos Capistran; her sister, Maria Capistran; as well as other loving relatives and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bedigno and Julia Capistran, and her son, Gustano Perez.
Though her family feels the deep sadness of her passing, they find comfort knowing that Sofia is now at peace in the presence of the Lord. Her loving heart, caring spirit, and devotion to her family will live on through all who knew and loved her.
