Rosario Arevalo, 86, of Dayton, passed away Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, in Baytown, with his family by his side.
He was born July 10, 1940, in Chihuahua, Mexico to parents; Castulo Arevalo and Isidora Frias and has resided in Dayton for the past 63 years. A retired maintenance worker for the Dayton school district. He enjoyed lawn care, reading his bible, mind teaser puzzles, taking care of his chickens and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. He was a faithful servant of the Lord he congregated at Vida Eterna. He will be deeply missed and remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Rosario wed his soulmate Catalina Trevizo De Arevalo, and they were married for almost fifty years. Rosario was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many.
Mr. Arevalo was preceded in death by his parents, wife; Catalina Trevizo De Arevalo.
He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory, his children Georgina Montes and husband Jose, Gicela Simmons and husband Jerry, Armando Arevalo and wife Irene and Patricia Arevalo and husband Gilberto Lagunas; his grandchildren Nathen, Samantha and husband Jarrod, Aaron, Gabriela, Ivan and wife Kaylee, Sydney Simmons, Jason and Jennifer Lopez, Justin Montes, Sofia, Lilliana, and Oliver Arevalo, Leslie, Andres, and Victor Lagunas; great-granddaughter Ivlee Simmons; his numerous siblings; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
The viewing will be held on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026, from 5 pm to 9 pm, at Eastgate Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026, at Eastgate Church.
