Jeanette Ruth King Smith, 82, of Anahuac, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026.
Jeanette was born on Dec. 13, 1943, in Anahuac, to Ernest and Irene Watson King. She graduated from Anahuac High School and worked as a florist. She was a member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and sewing.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Smith; her brother, Walter King; and her sister, Deborah Hughes.
She is survived by her son, Donald Smith Jr.; her daughter and son-in-law, Deanette and Charles Land; her grandchildren, Dwain Land, Ethan Smith, and Abby Smith; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026, at the Anahuac Cemetery.
