Martha Lou Cook

We’re here today to say goodbye, until we meet again, to Martha Lou Cook of Moss Hill, Texas.

Martha was born on March 30, 1948. She was the fourth of six children born to Otis and Lucille King. Martha passed away on Oct. 7, 2026, at the age of 78.

Martha touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege to really know her. Her selflessness, warmth and generous spirit will be remembered forever. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength and compassion that will live on in all of us that knew and loved her. Martha had a huge green thumb! She could make any plant come alive and bloom. She really did love her flowers. She also loved music and dancing. She just couldn’t sit still when a good song came on that had a good beat to it! She was full of good ole soulful rhythm! Martha had a beautiful soul that cared deeply about her family. She loved her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, and her TV preacher, Joel Osteen. She especially liked his jokes that he would tell before each sermon.

Martha’s presence will surely be missed in our lives. But as we mourn her passing, we can also celebrate the love, joy and kindness that were the essence of her whole being.

Martha Lou Cook was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Lucille King, and her siblings, Betty Larue Askew, Roy Taylor King, Judice Ann Livingston, and Timmy Ikey King.
