Clinton Douglas “Doug” O’Quinn

Clinton Douglas “Doug” O’Quinn, age 63, passed away on Oct. 16, 2026, in Tarkington Prairie, Texas, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories, a legacy of service, and countless lives forever touched by his kindness, friendship, and dedication to others. Born on Nov. 29, 1962, to Raymond Glenn and Patricia Ann O’Quinn, Doug lived a life defined by love for his family, loyalty to his friends, and an unwavering commitment to the community he so proudly served.

To know Doug was to know a man with a servant’s heart. For 33 years, he faithfully dedicated his life to law enforcement, proudly wearing the badge and answering the call to protect and serve. Throughout his career, he served with the Dayton Police Department and was currently serving as Captain of the Cleveland ISD Police Department. But to Doug, being a police officer was more than a career; it was a calling. Behind the badge was a man who genuinely cared about people, who understood the importance of making a difference, and who took pride in being someone others could depend on. Whether he was protecting his community, offering a helping hand, or simply being there when someone needed him, Doug left a lasting impression on the lives of so many.

While his dedication to law enforcement was a tremendous part of who he was, the greatest treasures in Doug’s life were the people he loved. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose presence brought comfort, strength, and love to those fortunate enough to know him. His family held a special place in his heart, and the memories they shared will forever be treasured. Beyond his family, Doug built friendships that became lasting bonds, touching lives in ways he may never have fully realized.

Doug leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved daughters, Erica Graham and her husband, Leslie, and Isabella O’Quinn and her mother, Laura Torres; his partner in crime, Nicole Dickerson, and her children, Brett Dickerson and Mikayla Dickerson; his brothers, Jimmy O’Quinn and wife Cindy, Daniel O’Quinn, and Ray O’Quinn and wife Tina; nieces and nephews, Abby O’Quinn, Tyler O’Quinn, Danielle Godejohn, Brooke O’Quinn, Bryce O’Quinn, Ryan O’Quinn, Taylor O’Quinn, and Lynndsey Hancock; his cherished grandchildren, Aubrie Greenhaw and Riley Greenhaw; along with numerous great nieces, great nephews, other loving family members, fellow officers, and a host of dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving father, Raymond O’Quinn, and his beloved mother, Patricia Roberts.

For 33 years, Doug stood proudly behind the badge, but the true measure of his life was never found in his rank or the uniform he wore. It was found in the lives he touched, the people he helped, the friendships he made, and the love he gave so freely. His passing leaves a tremendous void, not only in the hearts of his family and friends but throughout the communities he served with such pride and dedication. His brothers and sisters in blue have lost a fellow officer, his community has lost a faithful protector, and his family has lost a man whose love and presence can never be replaced.

Although his final call has come, the impact of Doug’s life will continue to be felt for generations. His legacy will live on through his children and grandchildren, through the memories shared by those who loved him, and through the countless lives made better simply because he was a part of them.

Rest easy, Captain O’Quinn. Your watch has ended, but your legacy of love, honor, and service will never be forgotten. We have the watch from here.
