Joshua Kane Randell, known to many as Josh, entered into rest on Oct. 16, 2026, in Cleveland, Texas. He was born on Sept. 8, 1975, in Houston, Texas, and will be remembered as a strong, determined, confident, and deeply protective man whose presence made a lasting impression on those who knew and loved him.
Josh served his country in the U.S. Navy, a chapter of his life that reflected his strength and sense of duty. He later worked as a railroad conductor and, after years of service, retired from that career. He carried himself with confidence and determination, and those closest to him knew him as someone who was very competitive, proud, and steadfast in the way he faced life. He was a manly man in every sense, a protector at heart, and someone who met challenges head-on.
Josh’s life was full of achievements, but he was most proud of being a dad. Josh cherished each moment he spent with his five sons, who were his pride and joy. A cancer survivor, Josh embodied strength and courage, living each day with unwavering determination. His determination was evident not only in the battles he fought, but also in the way he lived each day. He loved sports, especially the Houston teams, and found joy in following the teams that connected him to his hometown roots. He also loved music, another lasting part of life he enjoyed so fully.
Above all, Josh’s life was rooted in family. He is survived by his wife of 4 years, Chalana Randell, and by his children, Christian Randell, Tucker Murphy, Ethan Randell, Jace Randell, and Jett Randell. He is also survived by his brother, Christopher Randell, and his wife Polly; along with many other loving family and friends. The love of his family surrounded him throughout his life, and his memory will remain with them in the strength he showed, the pride he carried, and the care he gave to those he loved.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Wayne Randell, and his mother, Martha Ruth Randell.
