Annette Era Calcote was born Oct. 22, 1935, in Georgia, to parents, Otis Young and Era Mitchell Young. She passed away in Cleveland, Texas, on Oct. 27, 2026, at the age of 91.
Annette loved having a large family and she always provided a warm and loving home for her children. She enjoyed the holidays and when her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren would come visit her.
Annette will be greatly missed and cherished by her family and everyone that loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Era Young; husband, Clyde Calcote; grandson, Justin Salge; great-grandchildren, Gracie Salge and Kevin Yockov; brother, Earl Young; sister, Sarah Smith; longtime friend and companion, Doug Flowers Sr.
She is survived by her beloved children, Ray Stephens and wife Cheryl, Toney Stephens and wife Sherry, Sherrie Salge and husband Howard, Tammy Roberts and husband Darrell, Darlene Skinner and husband Troy; 21 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 11 great great-grandchildren; brother, Thomas Young; sisters, Mary Alice Williams and Kimberly Young; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026, in the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel from 12-3 p.m. Funeral Service will begin at 3 p.m. with Pastor Kerry Baxley officiating. Burial will follow in the Farley Chapel Cemetery in Shepherd, Texas. Pallbearers for the service will be, Mark Stephens, Joshua Salge, Cody Roberts, Derrick Honea, Dustin Stephens and Shane Salge.
