With few contested races at the local level, much of the attention in Tuesday’s general election focused on state and federal contests. Republicans hold every countywide elected government office in Liberty County, and most local candidates faced no opposition on the November ballot.
The race for state representative and state senator are among the contests with a direct connection to Liberty County, but much of the election-night interest is on the state and federal races, where voters are deciding who will represent them in Austin and Washington, D.C.
Bluebonnet News will post election results below as soon as they become available. Absentee and early voting totals will be released first, followed by Election Day results as ballot boxes arrive at election headquarters in Liberty and the votes are tallied. Results will be updated throughout the evening as additional precincts report. The following are results for early and absentee votes only.
