Authorities say they arrested a man in the early morning hours of Monday, June 18, after he allegedly drove along FM 2090 at a high rate of speed in the wrong direction of travel.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office dispatchers aired an attempt to locate a red Ford Explorer that was reported to be “all over the roadway at a high rate of speed,” a statement from Splendora Police Department reads.
At the same time the Explorer reportedly pulled into a closed Texaco gas station on FM 2090 and Tram Road, Splendora Police Officer Castillo arrived and placed the driver, identified as Cornelio Jimenez, 45, under arrest. He is charged with Driving While Intoxicated and sent to the Montgomery County Jail.
Jimenez, a resident of Splendora, is being held in the Montgomery County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
