Jodene Abney Medina

Jodene Abney Medina, 41 of Dayton passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018 in Houston.  She was born October 29, 1976 in Houston to parents, Charles Abney and Betty Kirkpatrick.

Services for Jodene will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with C.D. Williams officiating.  Interment will follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery.  The family will receive friends 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at Pace-Stancil.

Jodene was a lifelong resident of Dayton.  She had worked as an administrative assistant for TDCJ.  Jodene loved being with her family as her husband and sons were her heart.  She enjoyed doing crafts and baking cakes for others. Jodene was a caretaker, practical joker, and always put other people first. Her amazing personality and devotion to her family and friends will be forever remembered by every person’s life she touched.

Jodene was preceded in death by her  grandparents, John Henry Abney, JoAnn Abney, Bub and Jearldene Campbell; great aunt, Faye Neeley; mother, Betty Ruth Kirkpatrick; father-in-law, Mike Medina; uncles, Robert Campbell and Jerry Campbell; lifelong friends, Carrie Gohring and Jodi Griffin Maddox.  She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Michael Medina; her sons, Alec Medina and Ashton Medina along with their sweethearts Alexis Trevizo and Mattie McCaskill; her grandmother, Betty Lou Abney; her father and stepmother, Charles and Opal Abney; stepfather, Royce Kirkpatrick; sister, Wendy Finch and husband William; stepsisters, Alana Tyler and husband Mike and Ellen Winslow; stepbrothers, Russell Kirkpatrick and wife Katrina and Robert Kirkpatrick; also numerous nieces and nephews that adored their Aunt Jo Jo.
