Juanita Rico Blakey

Juanita Rico Blakey, age 92 of Milam, Texas, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018. She was born July 3, 1926 in Mexia, Texas to parents Antonio and Clemencia Mary Vargas Rico who preceded her in death along with her son, Johnny Don Turner; brothers, Tony Rico, Phillip Rico, Nick Rico, Raymond Rico, Jesse Rico, and Johnny Rico; and sister, Rosie Moreno.

Juanita was a member of Plum Grove Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved the church and worked with VBS. Juanita was a very caring person and could be counted on to provide food and other necessities to those who lost loved ones or needed help in any way.

Survivors include her daughter, Donita O’Pry; sister, Benita Ramirez; grandchildren, Schnelle Marie Simpson, Mark Edward O’Pry, Johnny Don Turner, Jr., And Michael Shannon Turner; great-grandchildren, Kyle O’Pry DeLeon, Thomas Logan De Leon, Dalton Edward O’Pry, Trac Chandler DeLeon, Braelyn Sage O’Pry, and Sterling E. DeLeon; numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas officiated by Rev. Bill Shafer. Interment will follow at Plum Grove Cemetery.
