Ila Alafair Henry

Ila Alafair Henry, age 93 of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Friday, November 2, 2018. She was born September 5, 1925 in Clark, Texas to parents James and Clara Whiteside who preceded her in death along with her husband, John K. Henry, Sr.; son, Milford Lee “Mickey” Henry; and granddaughter, Shawn Lea Blasingame.

Survivors include her daughters, Delicia Blasingame and husband Norman, Regina Ott and husband James; sons, John K. Henry, Jr. and wife Dawn, Marc Henry and wife Erin; sister-in-law, Bernice Coleman and husband Kenneth; brother-in-law, Lloyd Dickens; grandchildren, James Louis Henry and wife Misty, James Allen Ott, Jr. and wife Apryl, Reagan Ott and wife Wendy, Shannon Tumlinson and husband Russell, Anne Newton and husband Billy, Karran Morris and husband Craig, Farris Henry, Emily Henry and Matthew Henry; 16 great-grandchildren, 5 great great-grandchildren, numerous other relatives and friends.

Ila was a devoted wife and mother who loved working in her flower beds. She was also a very talented seamstress who often made clothing for her children. Mrs. Henry struggled with Alzheimer’s Disease for 7 years. Her family is eternally grateful to her caregivers, Sharon Mercer and Betty Shields for their undying love and commitment to Ila.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 5, 2018 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Pace Stancil Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Interment will follow at Pace Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens, Cleveland, Texas.
