Saratoga man charged with murder for Nov. 2 shooting

A 71-year-old Saratoga man, Gerald Wayne Tomlinson, is formally charged with Murder for a Nov. 2 shooting that claimed the life of a 37-year-old Batson man, Charlie Wayne Daniel, Jr., and injured Jacklyn Yvonne Sanders, 35.

On the afternoon of Nov. 2, around 3:30 p.m., Hardin County sheriff’s deputies responded to the 13000 block of Tomlinson and discovered the body of Daniel, who had died from a gunshot wound. At a nearby business, they found Sanders, who suffered a gunshot wound.

Sanders was airlifted to a local hospital and is expected to survive her injuries, authorities say.

In addition to the murder charge, Tomlinson is charged with Aggravated Assault. His bonds are set at $475,000 for the murder charge and $150,000 for the Aggravated Assault charge.
